Alliance intel now supports nicknames and suggestions for members awaiting planet assignment.
Versions & code references
Newest first. Snippets illustrate the implementation; they are references, not commands to run in the browser.

Intel nicknames
Nickname column provides a free-text box with suggestions for unassigned alliance members.
Nicknames are stored centrally for your alliance and follow intel edit and visible-field permissions.
Nickname labels do not change actual alliance membership or planet assignments.
Users can set their public game username beneath Planet display name; login credentials are unchanged.
Galaxy Browser Intel overlay mirrors alliance intel nickname, alliance, relation and scan columns in display-only mode.
Apply to order # assigns the chosen factories to the active ship order without resetting progress or changing queued orders.

Portal news posts use the same themed card layout as Command Operations.
Each news card includes a short synopsis and a link to its complete article.
The news archive lists releases by date, newest first, with version numbers.
Alliance Intel relations are read-only text, with War in bold red. The redundant Open Intel column is removed; planet names and scan letters open dossiers.
News cards include sci-fi background illustrations with dark overlays for readable text.
